Our New Home!!!

We are happy to announce our move to a new location!!! This session (Session 6) Marks the beginning of a new chapter for us!

This move comes with many changes and updates. Prices for all classes will increase to combat the rising rent price and costs of goods. This new building will provide a much more comfortable experience for our students and renters. Those who have been with us for a while know our battle with the kilns and our HVAC. This issue is now a thing of the past! The kilns will now have their own room and we regret to inform you that we will no longer offer a free sauna with our classes! 😁

We look forward to growing in this new space and offering more pottery adventures.

Intermediate Wheel!

This class is designed for students who are confident in basic wheel-throwing skills and are ready to elevate their technique, precision, and creative expression on the wheel. If you can center clay, throw cylinders and bowls, and are familiar with trimming and glazing, this course will guide you through more advanced forms and thoughtful design.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Throwing larger and taller vessels with consistent wall thickness
  • Complex forms: bottles, vases, lidded jars, and altered shapes
  • Refining foot trimming and surface finishing techniques
  • Making and attaching handles, and lids with precision
  • Surface design: texture, slip application, underglaze, and glaze layering
  • Strategies for throwing in sets and improving form consistency

Ideal For:

  • Students with previous wheel-throwing experience (at least 2 prior courses)
  • Potters looking to gain more control, scale up, and try new forms
  • Those interested in refining their craftsmanship and building a cohesive style
  • Students who can throw a 4in cylinder

Includes:

  • 25 lbs of clay
  • 6 weeks Studio Access
  • 2 weeks after class ends to finish all work
  • Weekly Open Studio time outside of class to practice and explore

Students will meet for 2.5 hrs, 6:30pm- 9pm, once a week for six weeks. You will be able to progress at your own speed and instruction will be catered to your particular skill level.

The class must have 6 people to run.

Be sure to wear old clothes or bring a apron and towel. Basic beginner pottery tools can be purchased here for $15. If you have any questions about the class, please email Delores at infodelorespottery@gmail.com

Students must be 18 years or older. Some exceptions can be made. Contact Delores with requests before registering your child.

We do not offer personal make up days since all of our classes are full.Typically instructors repeat lessons so if you miss one week you'll have the demo next time. We also offer open studio, access to the studio on the weekends and some weekday options for students to come in and practice.
